| | I see that there have been some posts about integrating TrackIR with the VR920. This is one of my biggest hesitations with buying the VR920 since it doesn't have the 6 dof that the track IR does. So am I understanding correctly that there is a download called GlovePie that allows you to use the TrackIR at the same time you're using the VR920? Do you still just have to wear the cap with the tracking clip attached at the same time you're wearing the VR glasses? Thanks. |

| | Yes, the VR920 can't detect position, only orientation. You can, in theory, use GlovePIE to write a script like this: FakeTrackIR.x = RealTrackIR.x FakeTrackIR.y = RealTrackIR.y FakeTeackIR.z = RealTrackIR.z FakeTrackIR.yaw = VR920.yaw FakeTrackIR.pitch = VR920.pitch FakeTrackIR.roll = -VR920.roll I haven't tested that, because I don't have a TrackIR. So I don't know whether GlovePIE's real TrackIR reading actually works (although I know fake TrackIR emulation works). And I don't know whether it works at the same time as my TrackIR emulation is running. In theory it should work, but I have no way of testing. You would need to wear the TrackIR vector clip, or vector clip pro, or track-hat, at the same times as you are wearing the VR920 glasses. You can only use them together for emulating a TrackIR with TrackIR games. You can't emulate a VR920 yet for games that support VR920 natively. Although I may add that ability in the future. Of course, if you don't need the 360 degree, actual angle tracking of the VR920, you could just wear a TrackIR and VR920 together, and use the normal TrackIR software without GlovePIE. GlovePIE is only needed if you want to emulate something using a combination of other things. |
