I cannot seem to get 720P mode to work at all on the Wrap 1200VR. It defaults to 1024x768 (which it claims is "native") and I can also use 800x600. 1280x720 or 1280x768 do NOT work at all. I am trying on both Vista 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit using an Nvidia GTX 470. Any help?

Here are a couple of suggestions.

(1) Disconnect the eyewear and then plug it back in. It may not be seeing the CCD and a reconnect will often correct that.

(2) Are you using any extension cables or a USB hub? If you are, try a direct connect to isolate it that is the problem.

It seems the issue was with the Nvidia control panel. If I select 1280x720 and hit Apply, nothing happens. However, if I go through the Windows display settings, then I am able to select 1280x720 and it works.

Hey Cyber, my only question is, can you clearly read text? Type an email. Write some code etc... using the vr1200?

No, not at all. In Windows everything just looks fuzzy. Inside games or videos its not so bad, but text is not really readable at 1280x720. At 800x600 its a little better, but then the aspect ratio is wrong (or you lose about 30% of the screen).

Are there any videos up to give idea of its potential in 3d environments, I mean does it feel any more 3D than the 920 or is just a clearer image with less discomfort, your basically paying for.

I just dont really get much of a sense of ohh or ahh from any of this feedback, but maybe its just me.

After 3ds novelty Im beginning to wonder if its all just more snakeoil designed for the wishful thinking fans.

Its going to have to pull some serious weight to compete with Sonys headset if its any good, or who is going to bother buying this thing ?

Neither of those "reviewers" even used the HMD, so they are basically pulling crap out of their butts.

Then this product is a complete failure.

Then this product is a complete failure.

This thing is made for playing games or watching videos, not for working on excel spreadsheets. I admit, it would be great if general Windows desktop stuff (web-browsing, etc.) worked well, but I guess you can't have everything.

Have you ever tried to play an MMO? Notice that pesky text that scrolls all over the screen, and especially in the chat window at a 10-12 point font?

I understand the limited perspective of the marketing of this device. But seeing as how you could do exactly what you had before with a 920... and now you have a 1200 and you can do the exact same and no more... what is the value?

Comparatively, perhaps the Sony will actually add capability. I own stock in vuzix... It Royally!!! pisses me off that this thing sucks.
