Ok... I've bought a lot of gadgets over time & never have I joined a forum to complain about something I've purchased. For all the hype & reviews bla bla... & for almost a year waiting to get my hands on a pair of these WRAP-920 video glasses... I sit here today & I'm like "Wha The F". I've had these 2 weeks now & I'm still trying to perfect them??? Is it just me or are people dumb when reviewing these things. They're chunky - a bad fit - & most of all the video quality is awful. & to think of how much they charge u for these glasses!!! Even playing a proper DVD from the Vuzix DVD player - eah CRAP! Ooooh very very disappointed indeed ): I could go on & on but.... (& by the way I rarely EVER complain about things). But seriously though - if ur planning on purchasing these - please try & go to some shop to try & see what I'm talking about - (I wish I could have). Sorry - but that's the truth of it!

WRAP 920 WRAP 920 - Is anybody else out there disappointed with the Wrap920. I'm shocked how cheap the video quality is!? & this is my FIRST time EVER complaining about a new gadget!? I could go on & on... but ):

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I bought a VR920, and to be honest, I expected it to be better...
Although I do think it's a lot of fun to play games with, I just... expected it to be better.

I own a pair of vr920 too and I'm very happy about them but all my friend (except just 2 or 3) were really disappointed by them... and i can't understand why... they don't give me a practical reason, maybe everyone was just expecting something different?

WRAP 920

I got these as a belated birthday present.

The picture playback in the right eye is awful.   After about 5 mins you get horizontal lines flicker up and down. Left eye is ok if a little blured even with the diopiter changed.

The right earphone has a loud himming in it and gradually gets worse and the picture is affected.  I think the problem is related.

Cant play back in 16:9 without having to tell the Archos or DVD player that the picture is 16:9.

3d option doesnt work even with the correct glasses configuration.

Support centre say that it is most likely my glasses are faulty.

I have been asked to return for a replacement. Not a happy bunny.

I sugget you return yours withon the 30 day window.

I bloody wish I could have done - (sent them back). I'm travelling now & not living in my home country. The more I think about it now I'm wondering are mine faulty? The picture quality is so cheap & yes my 3d options don't work either??? I'm thinking now should I contact them & see what they say??? Will keep u posted. (Surely people there are hundreds more of you out there who feel like this?) This is not acceptable...

Update.

I got my "new glasses" back within 7 working days.

However! I smelt a rat.

When I opened the box the nose bridge was broken off.

All the bags were open.

Batteries were in the battery compartment (flat I hasten to add)

Glasses appeared to be same as the duff pair i had received.

However when I turned them on I still had the buzz or drone in the right ear.

The menu set up was completely worng to the pair I originally had.

This prompted a quick call to tech support (couldnt get hold of their head office).

I explained the faults and what in effect appeared to be a pair of reconditioned glasses.

Hour later i get a call back and as i guessed these were not replacement product but refurbs.

The sent me new glasses express delivery next day.

I have promptly reported them to tradidng standards who have agreed to investigate this company.

My new pair appear to be new rather than refurbs and work ok.

Trading standards also confirm that the 30 money back guarantee begins from the day you accept the items as in working order.

That means you must write back to Vuzix UK within 7 days confirming your disatisfaction. When the new glasess are received and you satisfied with the product that is when your 30 days starts from.

Vuzix is technically breaching UK law by saying that the 30 days starts from the day you purchase from their website.

Jeez, I can't believe that! Isn't it amazing how the "Big Boys" take our money & basically don't care after that! We as consumers shouldn't have to put up with this in the first place. & GOOD on u for complaining to the Trading Standards! What will come of it is another thing - but I'll back u up if they need another consumer reference?

As for me it's probably too late to complain, even though I've only used the glasses 3 times, since Christmas. U see I had them sitting at home n the box, unwrapped since November. I was n Australia at the time, & I'm from Ireland, so I had them sent to my address back n Ireland b4 Christmas, as a present to myself, & only then opened them at Christmas. So my "7-day complaint" window is now closed I assume?

As far as the new pair u got, r u still disappointed? Is the picture quality still poor n colour/contrast? & does the 3d work now? I must get mine out again &give them another shot. By the way is ur movie frames kinda arched on the left/right sides... like not a proper square, you know? Cheers David.

I agree with everybody in this post. The video quality is lousy, 3D is bad and the wrap 920 glasses is hopeless to use if your not in a dark rom. It says in the advertisement that the glasses has a crystal clear picture.... not true.....

I purchased these glasses through Apple Store.... Does anybody know if i have the 30 days Money back guarantee
when i purchased these through Apple Store ??

I think the 30 day money-back guarantee is for if you buy directly from Vuzix, but you could shoot them an email and check.

Hi

Sorry for not updating sooner.

Got my new pair of glasses and have been testing.

1) 3D.  I set as per the glasses in Coraline 3D.  Left eye is red/pink right eye is green.  Doesnt work.  However if you swap over to green left eye and red /pink right eye the 3D effect works.  I warn dont expect IMAX or Real 3D quality.

2) Picture quality.  A major improvement on the two pairs they sent me the first time. is it great? No but what i expected I supppose.  I am using an Archos player.  For some reason the video has a red tinge around the characters in a movie lets say. It is possible i have not set to RGB on the output for player. The 3D auto gets confused and comes on when this happens in scene.

3) Battery life.  Not 8 hours even with rechargeable batteries.  i must have got at least 3 hours on 2 rechargable batteries. 1800's.

4) uncomfortable.  These remind me of the glasses you had to wear at the IMAX which contained a hifi and flickering glasses (thank god they did away with that system).  Heavy.  The nose piece is designed for the perfect nose. I have a break in 2 places on my nose (sorry Too Much Info here but hopefully you will understand my predicament) and it is very uncomfortable.

5) is it me do the viewing screens steam up after a while?

6) 30 day money back guarantee.  Yes i believe this is if you buy direct from them which i did.  however a website in the UK offerred the same guarantee.  I think the 30 day window in the UK is a requirement anyway from where every you buy something from.  After that for electrical equipment you have to hammer it out with the retailer not Vuzix.  After 1 year you have to to prove to Vuzix that the item was inherently faulty at your own cost.
