| So, I bought one of those 3D Vision setups (just the ir transmitter and glasses) in hopes to get the nVidia driver to output 3D on my VR 920. VR 920 drivers will NOT work for my needs since the driver only works with some apps. The iZ3d drivers helped, but the $50 entry fee was a turn off.
After installing the 3D Vision drivers and configuring it to output shutter 3d at 60hz I was disappointed to find the VR920 didn't recognize the page flipped display. I went into the on screen display in the VR 920 to enable 3D manually, but it just froze (the board will tell you its "by design". I will tell you its a very poor design.)
Apparently the VR 920 has no idea which frame in page flip mode is for left / right. The OSD mode waits for the computer to tell the VR 920 what to do so it just hangs (brilliant, I know).
To circumvent this over site, I loaded up the native VR 920 3d music visualizer. The VR 920 detected a signal and started splitting the frames between the eyes. I proceeded to minimize the app and load a direct 3d game that did NOT have the vuzix driver. Once the game was up, I hit CTRL + T to enable nVidia stereo. BAM, 3D.
The downside is that sometimes the VR920 gets the eyes backwards making me disable / rr-enable stereo. Would have been great if the OSD (on screen display) let me switch (concept, I know!).
This lead me to believe that we need a VR 920 driver that works with people that has native nVidia 3D Vision Shutter support. Only turn on 3d and sort the frames NOTHING ELSE!
The nVidia driver has better software support and much improved performance. It also supports multi-CPU and GPU rendering.

| | Hi, Great post. The Nvidia driver you installed, is it the standard forceware you can download or is it a special driver bundled with the vision kit. Also did you have to have the ir transmitter connected to your PC? I would like to try this with my VR920 and I have the Nvidia 3d driver that supports only anaglyph. I am sure ther is a way to force the page flipping to come on even if you do not have the 3d vision kit. Cheers Graeme |

| | I broke down and bought the 3D Vision kit with the IR transmitter. I have the IR transmitter hooked up so it would unlock nVidia page flip mode. Sucks that I need this hardware to enable the feature though. Could do a registry dump or something if needed. |

| | What do your mean with "3D Vision Kit"? TrackIR? And if yes, can your document your exact procedure so I can try to re-do it here to confirm it? Would be really great! |
