I don't know if it is technical possible, but it would be great to add support for some other types of 3D content to the AV920 (and other glasses) using a firmware upgrade. Currently the AV920 supports:

Interlaced-Left (interlacing filter, left first)
Interlaced-Right (interlacing filter, right first)

However a lot of 3D content uses other techniques to seperate left and right:

- Side-by-side
- Above-below
- Anaglyph

Can this please please please be added on a firmware upgrade for the AV920?

Best regards,

I second that. If more stereoscopic modes would be at all possieble, it would also be able to solve the problem of flickering due to rapid camera movement and different display times for each eye. Also being able to have above 30 fps at the same time.
I would guess it would be tricky to implement in the drivers though, and perhaps impossieble if the hardware architecture doesnt allow it. Still would be awesome though.
I guess a side effect of this though would be either awkward resolution on the signal sent to the VR920, which might complicate the drivers, or loss in resolution due to rendering two images squeezed into one.

Oh, while I thought of something more to add here I just realized I had replied to a topic about the AV920 while I was suggesting something for the VR920 haha. I guess stereo modes might be nice for both of them though.

Would it perhaps be possieble to add an option so that both of the displays were updated at the same time? That is, both displays only updated once both of the stereo images have been recieved? That way, the alternating updating between the displays would be eliminated, which has a tendency to make my eyes hurt.

EDIT: This is for the VR920!

Yeah that would be great! Playing games with low FPS would update the glasses' LCD screens only that fast (so we really get half FPS, if I understand this correctly). My eyes! They hurt! If you could send the same image, only modified with the 3D effect to both eyes simultaneously it would be awesome! Don't know if that's technically possible with only a firmware update though. Maybe the coders could answer that better

Oh and anaglyph (red/blue) support! Trackmania have anaglyph support, but no whats-it-called-again-field-interlacing-something-something-what? that these glasses do. Having the vr920 "simulate" red/blue 3D glasses could be neat. Just have them collect red color and blue color, merge them to left/right eyes, you probably know these things better than me
