Greetings From Atlantic City !

First off, I would like to say that I am very pleased with My VR920. I would also like to compliment the " Vuzix Team", on a job well done. They have brought virtual reality, of reasonable quality, down to an affordable level, with a product that is well made, and actively supported by its manufacturer. As a matter of fact, I paid less for my VR920, than I did for my VFX1 eleven years ago. I currently have 9 titles enabled. My favorite games are, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, Halo, and Half- Life 2: Episode One, which looks totally awesome !

But alas ( sigh ), I too am experiencing the dreaded " Yaw " problem with head tracking. Sometimes it works very well, but at other times, its kind of buggy. Unfortunately, it never works great. I suppose that some of these problems can be attributed to atmospheric conditions, and, the technological limitations of an "affordable" virtual reality system. I am confident that Vuzix is doing Their best to alleviate this problem. I myself, have a problem with the view drifting from zero while running an application. Perhaps Vuzix could assign a " Hotkey " that would center your view while running a game or application.

By the way, the " Vuzix 3D Visualizer " is FANTASTIC ! Thank you for making it available. I do hope that there will be more visualizations coming in the future. Or hey ! how about letting the user adjust the parameters to create their own visualizations ... hmmm ?

R Blaise Low

I would like Vista 64 bit support.

I use the soundcard in my pc and I don't use the one in the VR920.  On Vista, when I connect the VR920, its soundcard is set to be the default soundcard and I have to manually change back the default soundcard to my pc soundcard.  I would like the VR920 to not change the default soundcard in Windows.

I don't know if this one is an hardware or software problem but to me, it makes the VR920 not enjoyable to use.  That's my main reason (apart from the low resolution) for not using my VR920 anymore.  There's a problem with the bit depth in only one eye.  The picture in the right eye is correct.  The picture in the left eye is not.  When there are color gradients in the picture, not all colors are displayed so it causes visual step in colors and it gives a grainy look.  It's a very bad problem because since it's not showing in both eye, it makes the picture annoying/disturbing to look at since the two eyes don't see the same colors on areas that should be at the same.

Trying native driver i found two common problem in lots of games from support list. Some games runs perfect - old-series with simple shaders. But older ones, like oblivion, crysis etc suffer.

1)Shadows. As sun in games located at infinite distance, a slight adjustment in position and direction of view, made for each eye by stereodriver, also affects sun direction, and therefore shadow drops a slight different way for each eye. I'm not sure, this could be corrected well for standart between-eye distance, but as i'm expirienced user, i find it's not big enough (i need about 3x-4x times more), and after changing config file, this shadow difference becomes noticeable. Games affected - oblivion, crysis

2)Thing not in 3d, while they should be. Not everything that should be in 3d, is actually in 3d. This can be seen if you set monitor to clone mode with vr920 as primary. While seeing 3d in glasses, you can see on monitor that no all items on screen are doubled. Those are not - not in stereo mode. In some games this is minor bug - in spore planet landscape not in 3d, while objects on surface is. In some games it's critical - in live for speed, there is no point turning on 3d, because only things in 3d is a driver, and car. Road and cones etc. are plain. And in some games it's looks like as wrong depth - in oblivion after making bigger stereo separation grass looks like it's inside hills, and it's very noticeable, so i end up setting small almost not visible grass addon.

And to the end, sometimes i see bugs caused games not tested fully. In spore for example, when you in galactic view, zooming in to planet makes glow around them doubles. (Not sure maybe this is too because i set bigger stereo separation). And in oblivion common for also nvidia stereodrivers problem with water wasn't solved too.

So for all this games i think it's not to be names "fully supported tiles", this is partially supported. Those fully supported - portal (and all half-life i think too), doom3. I think quake 4 will be too, since it's almost as "complex" as doom3 is, but it have to be tested.

This will be good to see in supported tiles filter to show up completely supported ones - where no bugs at all, and partially supported - where you need to set some patch, or tune it up someway, or turn some postprocess features off.

Centurion, a list showing which titles have Native Mode support is available at: http://www.vuzix.com/iwear/products_vr920_support.html.

Much of the issue here is not understanding the difference between a title using the Vuzix 3D Stereo drivers and Native Mode. Not all titles using the Vuzix 3D Stereo drivers are Native Mode. In most cases, if an application is shown in the iWearMonitor, it uses an iWearMonitor Extension which enables that application to use the Vuzix 3D Stereo Drivers, but that is not native mode support. iWearMonitor Extension enabled applications are ones where iWear support was added to the application externally, not written native into the application itself.

If you take a program like Space Shuttle Simulator 2007 or one of the Binus Titles that ships with the Vr920 software you will find they are not listed in the iWearMonitor. That is because they contain true native support and all the code required to use the VR920 is written directly into that program's code.

An exception to the iWearMonitor Extension description above is Second Life. With SL, we did write native mode support into the SL Viewer and use the iWearMonitor not to run an extension but simply as a simple and convenient means of installing the correct SL files for your installed version.

It is easy to understand the confusion on this as most iWearMonitor enabled titles now use our Vuzix 3D Stereo Drivers and many of the implementations have become so good, it's really hard to tell the difference between them and true native mode applications.

I was told around 6-7 months ago that the native SL client would be updated. This has not happened yet. What happened to all the software/firmware updates in general? The VR920 hasn't exactly been abandoned if they're adding more things to it.
