I don't know about the internals of the Googles, but both LCD displays seem to be able to update with 60Hz in non stereo mode. Why can't you report a 120Hz display with your driver and then split the 120Hz to 60Hz on both displays?

because it would make the displays more than double the price.

But they are already in there and each one supports 60Hz, so both of them could be updated with 60Hz if you split a 120Hz signal. The problem is probably the controller or the technique they use to distribute the image to the screens. I don't know if that is capable to work with a 120Hz signal.
And if anyone at vuzix reads this, could you tell me (maybe by PM or email) what kind of mr-sensors you use for the yaw tracking? I have close contacts to the company, that has built the ones that are inside the rovers Spirit and Opportunity, that have been cruising the mars surface for some time now. Maybe you're interested.

I think because this will need faster glasses cpu, this will consume more power, give more heat etc.

But even with 30 fps you are not seeing 30 fps, because there is a time pixel need switch from white to black and it's about 10x bigger than one frame takes. LCD with faster reaction cost much more, so price i limiting
