@cybereality,

when you reffering "native 3D driver" do you mean Vuzix's Stereo 3D driver or NVidia driver ? I assume Vuzix's driver is better ATM ?

thanks, Hill.

@Hill: Yes, we are discussing the "Vuzix Stereo Driver" or VR920 native stereo. While the nvidia driver works on many more games, its restricted to nvidia cards with limited support in Vista. The Vuzix stereo works on any video card in both XP and Vista for about 30+ games. In addition, the quality of the stereo 3d image surpasses what I have seen with anything using the nvidia 3d driver.

Don't install a 64 bit OS if you want to do anything strange (like 3D).

What's you opinion on Vista 32-bit for stereo 3d (or other strange stuff as you put it). Would I be better off just sticking with XP?

copy d3d9/8.dll from vuzix d3dproxydriver folder to trackmania root folder (and VR920Dx9Stereo.cfg from a vuzix game folder, try all) , ingame type ctrl+F8 , tweak VR920Dx9stereo.cfg file, but we don't know for now what parameters mean in cfg file so it's long to have something correct cause tweaks doesn't work in real time, for now i didn't manage something excellent like in halflife, but i think it's possible. You can try every D3D games like this, some could works, report here if you manage some, even if it doesn't work.

I would like to test some games for unofficial support but I am not sure what the process is.

What i tried is:

1. "Browse for target" for COD4 to the folder of a different game where all the .dlls are in.
2. Start the game
3. Press Ctrl-F8 in the game

Should i see a change now? Till now nothing ever happened.

Thanx in Advance

copy d3d9.dll and or d3d8.dll and vr920Dx9Stereo.cfg in the directx game root folder, cod4 is officially supported ....depending games some work some not or need tweaks in vr92dx9stereo.cfg. Exemple unigine sanctuary 3d engine demo (http://unigine.com/download/):
paste this.

Method=3, IPD_View=0.010,IPD_Menu=0.010,Manual_VSync=0,Locking=0,QueryGPU=1,LogFile=1,AutoIPD=1, ExpMax=0.81, ExpRate=0.015, ExpPoint=0.80

in VR920Dx9Stereo.cfg, run demo in full screen 1024x768, type F8 and you should see 3D.

I got GRID (demo) to work using the DiRT config file. However only the cars and other moving objects are in 3D. The background is in 2D. Still looks good.

I tried setting everything to low, that didn't help. It must be some post-process pass thats mucking up the stereo.

Also, I tried to get UT3 to work. Tried a bunch of different configs and some random edits, no dice. Might try again tomorrow.
