The controls are:

WASD, Arrow Keys, or Wiimote dpad: walk in that direction

Spacebar, Ctrl, or Wiimote A: jump

Left mouse button, or Wiimote B: fire

1: primary weapon (can choose which weapon it is from the menu, then reload map to get it)
2: pistol
3: grenades
4: knife

Wiimote -: change weapon

Left shift, Wiimote +: hold down for iron sights, or scope

Esc, Wiimote HOME: menu

Alt, Wiimote 1: map

R, Wiimote 2: reload

hey carl,
all i can say is wow!
the native 3d effect looks amazing although is there a way to set the speration in the game because things in close range (eg gun in ur hand) starts to seperate into two images sometimes.
as for tracking i realy didnt have time to test it out properly this arvo cause i didnt have time to calibrate it for half an hour so i ended up geting a huge sensitive spot (with no suprise the sensitive spot was when i was facing my pc ) so the tinyest movement would move it like 25 degrees around then it would go back to standard tracking (eg 1 degree head movement = 1 degree ingame movement)
any wait to see this coming out in more open source and the hopefully more production games other than the 2 currently supported by the iwear monitor.

If you are using this version instead of the earlier one that I sent you, then you can choose "Options" from the main menu. Then you should be able to set both the separation and the screen depth (and the FOV which also has an effect). I would recommend setting the screen depth closer rather than changing the separation. Closer screen depth means less things are in front of the screen and more things are behind the screen. You should experiment with both though.

In real life, even holding something as far from you as you can, it still doubles when you look around the room. Of course in real life your eyes can focus and converge at the same depth, but in the game your eyes are forced to focus 9 feet away even when they converge on something right in front of your eyes, which causes eye strain. Also in real life, you wouldn't (and couldn't) hold something in front of your face like that for long periods of time.

By the way, don't forget to choose the sniper scope from the weapons menu, then load a map, then test out the sniper scope with the left shift key (or wiimote + button). It is just like a real sniper scope, in that it is only on one eye while the other eye sees the world as normal unless you close that eye.

If the options on the menu are too limited, you can set console variables directly. Press the console key (~) and type the variable name, space, and then the value (integers only), then press enter. You can set the following:

fov: field of view in degrees
scopefov: sniper scope field of view
separation: separation as a percentage, 100 matches reality (if FOV matches reality, otherwise separation may need to be higher for the same effect), you can go over 100 if you want
screendepth: distance of screen in cm
stereo3d: stereoscopic mode, 0 = mono, 1 = vr920, 2..13 = anaglyph, 14 = quad buffer, 15 = page flip, 16 = blue line code, 17 = white line code, 18 = nvidia stereo driver, 19 = nvidia StereoBLT (19 is not implemented yet)
tracking: 0 = no head tracking, 1 = head tracking
filteryaw: 0 = no filtering (at least not by me, the driver still filters), 1 = my filter (also filters pitch and roll)

I'm sure Vuzix will add many more games soon. They say they are working on lots.

I'll have a go later on adding stereo to those other games I added tracking to. But first I have to finish adding stereo to this 3ds file viewer, as someone requested.

Hi Carl, just a quick question.  Can I just use a wii remote and glovepie? Or do I have to have the wii switched on too?  Thought it was just the wii remote but then got confused when I watched Johnny Chung Lees vid on headtracking.  Dont know if you've seen it, worth a look I think!!

You can use a Wiimote with GlovePIE, or you can use a Wiimote directly with AssaultCube without using GlovePIE.

You don't need a Wii (I don't have one).

But you do need a USB bluetooth adapter if your computer doesn't have bluetooth. You need to hold down the 1 and 2 buttons together, while you connect the Wiimote in your bluetooth software. If your bluetooth software is not Bluesoleil, you need to choose Bluetooth Fix from the troubleshooter menu in GlovePIE. AssaultCube doesn't need you to do that.

If you want to use the Wiimote's pointer functionality (which is separate from its motion sensing) you need a sensor bar. Some people make their own (like I did), some people buy a wireless sensor bar, and some people use the Wii's sensor bar (which means the Wii needs to be plugged in and switched on after you connect the Wiimote to the PC). Some people use candles, christmas tree lights, or anything that emits infrared light as a sensor bar.

CarlKenner (2/18/2008)
I added native stereo, filtering, and tracker+mouse control to AssaultCube. I also added native wiimote support.

Download and install AssaultCube from here (it's less than 20 MB):

http://assault.cubers.net/download.html

Then download my patch from here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/92937806/AssaultCubeVR.zip

And extract it to the assault cube directory.

IMPORTANT: Your VR920 must be set to "Only use one display (Single)" in control panel, otherwise the vsync won't work, so native stereo won't work. The graphics card needs to be only talking toa singlemonitor for vsync to work.

Hi,
CarlKenner thanks for your efforts

I've done all the steps like you say but when choose in options, tweak stereo mode, the VR920 native stereo, a error messag appears: "Unknow comand:stereo mode 3d."

What's wrong?

Thanks
