That's why you looking one monitor with two eyes, when in glasses each one got their own screen centered. Also if there are other files needed there will be a need for a subdirectory..

It will be created in VisualBasic6 (for now)..

Since vuzix isn't telling/responding to anything these days I wonder what they are up to on the part on extending the support of their vizor, like what they are doing with the iWearMonitor etc.. So I would hope they will at least give a sign of life.. hehe..

RE: Supported Native Stereo

I don't think anybody was being misleading. The games listed here are games that are natively supported by the Vuzix-stereo driver (as opposed to the generic nvidia 3d driver). Not which games natively support the VR920. Each of the games on the official supported list were added specifically by Vuzix so that is considered native support. Other games based on the same engines may work, but only using the iWear Monitor of course. There are no commercial games that I know of that support the VR920 built-in. You always need drivers of some sort. That goes for just about any product on the market, so I'm not sure how thats relevant. Obviously it would be best if game developers would code support for all this stuff, but you can't really fault Vuzix for that.

RE: Supported Native Stereo

This is certainly an interesting thread, but unfortunately it title is very misleading, likely due to a popular misconception of what "Native Support" is.

Native Support is where code to enable use with an iWear VR920 is written directly into the application. In this style of implementation the program's author has direct control over all aspects of the stereoscopic display and head-tracking, specific to the needs of their program and what they wish to accomplish.

What is being discussed here is support enabled through our iWearMonitor. This is "after the fact" enablement through iWearMonitor Extensions that hook into applications using a variety of method and resulting in a range of quality implementations. Some are nearly as good as true native mode support while others are less so. In general, this does not provide the same level of quality and flexibility as true Native mode Support.

Applications containing Native Mode Support do not require the presence of the iWearMonitor nor any hooks into the program. You simply run the application and your iWear VR920 works. The choice of automatically enabling support for the iWear Vr920 or requiring a user to enable that support through options settings selection is up to the application's author. Most tend to sense the iWear's presence and automatically enable its support features.

Vuzix actively encourages developers to include Native Mode Support, as that provides the best results. Where that is not happening or happening fast enough for our iWear customers, we try to add support through an iWearMonitor Extension. If you, the user, want to see more titles coming out with true and superior Native Mode Support, you have to let the authors of your programs know that that is what you want.

RE: Supported Native Stereo

Everquest2 works:
Method=6, IPD_View=1.40,IPD_Menu=1.000,Manual_VSync=0,Locking=0,QueryGPU=1,LogFile=0,AutoIPD=0, ExpMax=0.11, ExpRate=0.001, ExpPoint=2.0

Mass Effect works:
Method=7, IPD_View=0.90,IPD_Menu=1.100,Manual_VSync=0,Locking=0,QueryGPU=1,LogFile=0,AutoIPD=0,ExpMax=0.11, ExpRate=0.001, ExpPoint=2.0

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. works:
Method=6, IPD_View=1.40,IPD_Menu=.020,Manual_VSync=0,Locking=0,QueryGPU=1,LogFile=0,AutoIPD=0, ExpMax=0.11, ExpRate=0.001, ExpPoint=2.0

AND ITS AWESOME.

Now, can someone give me a hint , why punkbuster dislikes teh googles. While the nvidia driver works on many more games, its restricted to nvidia cards with limited support in Vista. The Vuzix stereo works on any video card in both XP and Vista for about 30+ games. In addition, the quality of the stereo 3d image surpasses what I have seen with anything using the nvidia 3d driver.

RE: Supported Native Stereo

@cybereality,

when you reffering "native 3D driver" do you mean Vuzix's Stereo 3D driver or NVidia driver ? Concerning driver i think it could work cause it's not a driver for stereo just a dll, now if you mean vr920 driver i don't think it was created for 64 bit os, but i didn't try so i can't tell. My windows 2003 sever workstation tweaked start two time faster than my V64U with alot of softwares and games installed, instead of vista that had only some games on, it took a lot to shutdown too, and a lot of boring bugs here and theire,on gaming use it's a shame, cause crysis is slow, with pydon's tweak DX9 it look better on XP than on Vista DX10 with better frame rate on XP/2003, so, that is why i removed Vista , i don't need an unfinished OS. The only support you could find on Nvidia 3d Stereo will be for Zalman 3d monitor only, i don't think they will make a driver that will support others hardware (may be they plan to acquire Zalman ? :w00t: ). Don't waste your time with Vista, or just try and you will see.... it's really ... hummm . hummm for Dumb Blonde loooooooooooool.

PS : I found definition for Vista on the web :p
Windows VISTA : Virus, Infections, Spyware, Trojans, Adware.

RE: Supported Native Stereo

@kapi: For sure Crysis needs a monster rig just to play at all, I'm not expecting any wonders in 3d. But like I said, I'm building a new rig so I think I should be fine. One question though, does any of this work in Vista 64-bit? I'm still up in the air about installing Vista (x64) and the main reason was how the nvidia driver (previously) didn't support 3d in Vista. Now that it looks like Vista is gaining some support I'd like to make the jump, but will I still be able to use all the functionality of the VR920? This is the first time I've got to see the native stereo and its a huge difference. I can't believe what crap the nvidia 3d driver was all this time. With the native 3d there weren't any issues with text or 2d HUD elements. I didn't see any conflicts with full-screen post-processing effects either. Not only that, but the 3d image appeared to have a wider range of depth which made the environments seem bigger. Frame rates also seemed faster, but I will have to do some benchmarks to be sure. Overall, a huge improvement over the old nvidia stereo drivers.

I can't wait to finish my new rig now! 3D Crysis, here I come!!!

RE: Supported Native Stereo

Yeah Crysis work but it's official, if you have some games tested working or not post them here it would be cool to see what is working or not.

RE: Supported Native Stereo

Sweet, thats not a bad list there.
