The AV920 says specifically they support consoles such as Xbox, Wii and PS3. However the VR920 do not mention such support. Does the VR920 support consoles?

Also, would it be better for me to wait on the Wrap 920 before buying?

One last question, can these things hurt your eyes?

Thanks,

-Taylor

Best way to fix vr920 to head

I finnaly found a secret recipe of success, after lots of times a had to adjust glasses again, since they due to gravity goes down.

What you need is:
1)HeadLamp. They are common for fishing, as in dark nights you have to see what you are doing. What is important - with three headstraps (actually that's two but whatsoever). Wear it, if you feel comfortable, this is will be also fine for your glasses.

2)Some bendable things. Not sure how it's named correctly, this is what used to keep wires together, when you buy new mouse, keyboard or any other computer stuff. They are easy to bend so you can easily fix vr920 to headstrap.

3)Some soft pads, also for comfortable, so you don't get your skin red because straps push them for long period of time, breaking blood supply.
You can get them also in lots of computer stuff, when you buy a new card, they are placed inside this soft pads, for preventing damage while transporting.
4)Some heatsinks - if you got blackdot problem.

Now assembling:
1) Remove lamp from headlamp, so you got headstraps left. It's commonly a few screws. Trash lamp, keep headstraps
2) Fix soft pads on headstraps plastic details (they will push hardly) and earstraps of you vr920. I also removed standart ears from vr920 - they make my ears pain, so i use my own.
It's done easy with needle and thread
3)Put heatsinks of glasses - middle top, and middle front. Not middle bottom, since it will hurt your nose.
4)Adjust headstraps for your head. Then fix vr920 to headstrap plastic pad, where light device originally was, using bendable stuff. Fix ears parts of glasses to headstraps on the left and right part, also with needle and thread - for comfort. Anything else will hurt skin. It's important here, depending how far you will fix, the distance from glasses to your eyes when you wear all that stuff will be different and not adjustable. So you'll have to find that yourself, what is better for you.

And how this is finnaly looks:

Now when i wear straps fix glasses tight on my head, so when i play something with tracker, i can move head freely, not fearing glasses will slip off. I can play in every position i like, looking up or down, laying on a side.

Will there be new VR glasses soon?

I've been following these glasses for what it seems like a long time now. I'm really surprised with how long the VR920s have been out, that a new version hasn't made its way on to the scene yet. It seems like Vuzix just wants to keep making new products for different usage categories, rather than improving products they've already had for awhile. Does anyone know if this is coming, and when? I really want a pair, but I was going to hold out until a better/improved version came along.

Black dot

This is not because overheating. Setting darked backlight won't help. The only reason this happens is because you use resolution bigger than 640x480. Chip that downscales it probably badly cooled down, so around hour playing 800x600 you will see dot growing right side. Playing 640x480 you'll never see it again.

the .dll files in iWear Monitor

Where are these .dll files that must be added to enable applications in the iWear Monitor?
I have all of the Orangebox (stand alone which are steamless) installed but they don't show up in the monitor program. When I "Browse for target" I find the install folder under "Valvesoftware/The Orange Box/halflife 2 episode one", inside there are several other folders; bin (which contain other .dll files), eposidic, hl2 and others. I have selected the bin folder. the app then shows up in the left side panel of the monitor but I cannot get it so show up in the supported (right) panel. I suspect the .dll files are not present.

If I need to manually copy these .dll files Where would I find them? I've had VR920 since early this fall now, and the main thing that has made me use it less and less is basically the hassle of plugging and unplugging the cables.
I am using dual monitors, so keeping the VR920 connected to one of my two outputs on my GPU is not an option. Also, since the VR920 seems to be constantly powered when the USB cable is plugged in, keeping it connected isnt an option either.
I thought about getting switches/hubs or something (has to be DVI for video).
I tried searching the forum, but little came up. I am sure I'm not the only one wondering about this though. :)

So here is my question. Do any of you have any tips for a good solution for this, such as a switch/hub for DVI and USB? I've searched the web, but I've had trouble finding a good DVI switch. What kinds of things could I possible expect from future models, and is Vuzix actively working on these enhancements? For instance, with the advent of the OLED displays that I saw in articles from the CES, it looks like ultra thin, crystal clear, sharp displays could be implemented. Will Vuzix possibly switch to OLEDs? What about total immersion? I would think for a lot of gamers, the FOV would need to be greatly increased. And what about improving the head tracking? Currently the TrackIR system allows not only the directions the VR920 does, but it also allows for the zooming in and out. Will this be possible with future versions? Will it be possible to watch regular movies with a 3-D like effect with these glasses? Does any one know if it is compatible with the VR290 and if so, what are the limitations if any? Please provide as much information as possible. I would really like to buy, but if FSX is the only choice, I will have to wait. Although I have FSX, I prefer FS9 for the time.
Thanks

Carl, What will I need?

Going to order a vr920, My system is XP with a geforce 8500gt.

I will run flight sims, mostly Aces High 2, I want head tracking and stereo 3d if possible.
